Bill Franke, the long time rod maker and creator of the One Pfoot passed away Dec 21st after a second battle with cancer. I spent many days talking with Bill while he wrapped rods, turned grips and grip checks on his lathe and simply cast some rods with him at his store in N. Conway. I can say he was my friend and still lament that I could not join him for a fishing trip as I was still feeling the results of my chemotherapy, rest well Bill, the print Art Taylor signed for you sits proudly in my home and I will think of you and Art now fishing above.

    I'll always remember the few days I spent in Bill's shop in North Conway, just watching and mumbling occasionally. The man had 'magic hands' and a gift with words. Sip definitely poured; thanks for passing the word, Sante.
