Dude, I've messaged you about spamming the board about your blog, and I think I was quite accommodating but you have not changed your behavior at all. So now I'll put it out there publicly (while I discuss it with mods and admin) you either find a way to contribute to these boards in a broader fashion or you'll get a vacation from using this forum simpy to increase your own hits. I say "hits" rather than "readership" for obvious reasons.

I think he may have some automated process setup to update this place everytime he posts to his blog. Probably does the same thing on all the social media sites.

It hasn't been automated posting, more intermittent, but a bot could probably write better prose for his blog so maybe someone can work on that.

    welcome back btw

Thanks. On one hand they want to share their joy and happiness with the rest of the world, but most of us are jaded and hard to impress

Wow. Some serious negativity going on here. I have been a long time reader of flyfisherman.com, love seeing and reading what the forums have to say and recently launched a site of my own that deals with the love of fly fishing in Colorado. I do not have any "automatic" process set up to post. I post what I believe other fly fishers would enjoy. If you don't like what a little, tiny independent fly fishing blog is doing, don't read it. Wow.

I don't think "negativity" is the object we are trying to convey. Your only purpose as far as we can tell is to link your web site with this one. This is against the rules. It is considered spam.

It's easy to write on these forums and pass judgment on others, so let's personalize it more. My name is Tim and I live with my wife and daughter in Boulder, Colorado. My best friend from childhood and I decided to document our Colorado fly fishing adventures. It is an independent site (not associated with a shop), non-revenue generating with no ads. I have been a long time reader of fly fisherman magazine and the website. I've enjoyed the forums to hear others opinions and stories - including links to other sites. P. Dieter, a "super moderator" has deemed me a spammer. That couldn't be further from the truth.

Gloldenladie - it is not negativity when your fellow super moderator states "a bot could probably write better prose for his blog so maybe someone can work on that" ??

Whatever. I'll take my love for fly fishing, hearing other peoples joys and sharing my own off your "forum".

    Tim,

You've missed my point. Up until this conversation you have contributed absolutely nothing other than to use this sight as a link to your blog - again, that is against the rules. Contribute something and perhaps you won't be labeled a spammer, not my words but you have to admit, they fit. You haven't been banned (yet) based on the fact that your link is harmless and to a certain extent relates to this sight.

This is a black and white issue - contribute or be banned, and by contribute, I mean something other than you link to your blog.
