...driftless. Thought I'd post this for my friends here. Both of them...just so they'd know I was still alive and kicking. And, maybe to rub it in a little that the fishing is...well, nobody would believe me. Like yesterday and the 20 incher that ran me under a fence pulling line as I threaded the rod under while climbing over and the 25 inch brown I saw that was trying to swallow a 12. Sorry I didn't have a camera. But, I did take one some days this spring...

Ya got me there, Kuni...I made the cast. Thats skinny water, though...the nymph went a foot before that last brown came out from under the bank and took. I handed her the rod and she pinched off the line and reeled in the slack just like a pro. She's done this before...but, that brown jumped in front of the setters face. That explains her expression. Yesterday after school my 11 yr old son came with us and each caught a couple just like those...but, he wants to cast himself. I leave the dog home for that...

Great. Especially the shots of your daughter fishing.

    Nice fish from tight casts.

Aw that's okay, casting's tough for short fishers, no prob you getting it out and she playing in. Wonderful dad you are. BTW, will someday get to that Driftless area, but with bamboo.

I broke both tips of the Schroeder last year...and, I had lots of fun earlier this year with a JD Wagner 7' 3wt. That 30 yr old Orvis tippet is just about as perfect for these waters as graphite gets, though. I had days with it in the last month that were better than any it had on the spring creeks of the paradise valley when I first built it. But, some new cane is in order. Better days for the don...
