leader and tippet question

I've been an Umpqua super fluoro user for both leader and tippets for a while now. I've been very pleased with the product. Even so, there are some fishers that I respect greatly who have praised the Rio fluoro flex plus so I bought a spool of their tippet. I will be testing it but I have a question. I've read that it is important to stick with the same companies for both leader and tippet material. Would you agree that this is actually true or have you noticed similar diameter and good knot strength when using a leader from one manufacturer and tippet from another? Also, I haven't seen a Rio super fluor flex leader material like their tippet product. I would appreciate your thoughts.

Rio flouroflex is basically all I use. A very good product.

I've heard don't marry up different brands but I don't know if it really makes any difference. I think using a 100% knot (orvis tippet knot, for example) is more important.

Thanks for your thoughts. I'll certainly experiment myself.
