Northeastern Tennessee trout fishing

How have others done in the NE corner of TN? Took a group of 18 people to the Watauga to fish with guides and wade fish on our own. We did OK with the guide - nothing spectacular in terms of numbers or size. Finding good, wadeable water was difficult. The Doe and Stony Creek were muddy, tried Laurel Fork was very pretty but tough. Watauga was running high the entire time and not wadeable. Nothing coming off in any numbers for dry fly fishing. What have been your experiences?

Hi. NE TN has received a large amount of rain causing lakes to fill to the brim and creeks to run high and fast. So, the fishing has been so-so.....except from Drift Boats. The fishing has been excellent when drifting. Also, when dams not spilling/generating, the South Holston and Watauga Rivers are super fisheries for wading. Lots of access. World class tailwaters for sure.
