    I agree. This is a case where legal (I assume) is wrong.

    Why is the dudes dad in trouble? Just a tiny bit of time in the National Zeitgeist ago it was da gubmints fault if well documented and arrested and responded to and recoreded whacakadoos got a hold of a gun?


    NOW its the dad? Not the people who gets salaries and cabins and boats up on the lake and retirements and bennies and all that? ITS THE DAD? What if he's old? What if he's **** too? What if he's handicapped? What if his son beat his **** and cut his momma and the dad said 'take them and leave'......

    WHAT ABOUT THE SECONDS AMMENDMENT! Constitootion works for ya when a president you don't like gets elected and you wants them to throw a President out of office..you start quoting this...and quoting that...but when it comes to rites to bare your arms....NO MR BLUTO....WE NEED TO CHANGE THAT...THAT'S NOT WHAT OUR FOUR FATHERS MEANT....

    Okay...here's what I imagine.....the cops and the FBI gets all these stories about this kid with guns and mental problems and infractions and stuff....and some junior grade analyst in some district office who wants so badly to be the boss and making the money spends all his spare time doing statistical analysis and stuff and he says.....'LARRY'.....Larry is the current District Chief....well...Jr Grade analyst Joe starts telling everybody in break room and their cubicles and at the office softball games that LARRY is a dinosaur with a BA in Astrology from a solid liberal arts community college who argues his position with anecdotal band camp stories about this one time that he stuck a flute up his bazoo and it turned out that it lead them to catching the #27 worst Gacey in history of Sinclair Wyoming!

    So they listen to how he did a cost-risk-analysis and it says there's a 52% chance they'd be better off if they made the dad responsible for whatever the kid does in the future than being responsible for not doing anything when they had the chance....

    Three years down the road after Larry was put in charge of feeding and cleaning the cages of the bomb sniffing dogs in charge of protecting District HQ offices from outside threats and Jr Grade Analyst is promoted to District Operations Chief and then retires to his condo and sport boat in Boca Raton.....this **** comes down....

    Why did the gubmint give the weapons they took away from the kid to the kid's father?

    And its buried in the wagging of the lambs tail.....six figure pubic relations officer spins it this way.....5 figure District Attorney #2 with political ambitions spins it that.....badda bing badda boom.....different media outlets spin it this way and that....and VIOLA.....we've got all kinds of stuff out there that the public can CHERRY PICK to satisfy and satiate their own whims......Facebook and Twitterverse blows up for five minutes....another Kardashian has another NBA baby.....badda bing badda boom....everybody is talking about how Kim Jong Un and Jacob Zuma are having a baby that will inherit the riches of Africa and a nuclear arsenal!

    And that's the way the world turns!

    Well....somebody better get all the facts straight and sort this thing out....According to the official stamenet from the Illinois Sheriffs office that 'took' the guns away from Travis the 'father was advised that he needed to keep the weapons secure and away from Travis'.....is there a difference between 'advised' and 'ordered' or not. Travis had a legal right up until August 2017 to possess the guns because he had the legally required card to be able to do so in Illinois, until the Sheriff's office took them away, revoked the card, and gave them to his dad. An ATF agent said it might be a violation of Federal law if somebody transfers weapons to somebody who is prohibited but he didn't know in this case. According to Illinois law it is against the law to transfer weapons to somebody who doesn't have a valid ownership card, but....THERE'S AN EXCEPTION if the weapons are a BONAFIDE gift from a relative....which could be the case.

    Every body so far has said they have no idea how Travis got a hold of the weapons yet....he may have even stolen them...while his father was at work....

    Now...the crimes were committed in Tennessee of course..and all officials there say according to everything they have seen...there is no law against Travis having the weapons in Tennessee...not even with whatever happened in Illinois. The states have different laws.

    WHERE'S MY HEAD ON THIS.....also full of lots more information because I like to analyze things and collect knowledge and information.....like.....more than 50% of school shootings...and there are school shootings all the time....accidental...intentional...single victim...two....more...adults...other kids...shot on school buses...in schools.....on school property...during extracurricular activities such as football games....dances...in more than 50% of school shootings WHERE THE AGE OF THE SHOOTER is also known....those shooters were minors....and when they weren't many had been under treatment or observation or had records of mental illness or ahborrent behaviors...SOOOOOOO.....why and how did they get guns? In fact...even looking outside of just school shootings...there are lots of incidences of minors and adults of questionable reason and rationality getting a hold of guns and shooting and often kiling people....in every case they had to get the guns somewhere...given...sold...stolen from people who didn't secure them well enough....

    Whom of them do we arrest? The source of the weapons right before a minor or adult of questionable reason and rationallity got a hold of them? Does the method of how they got a hold of them matter? Given, sold, bartered for, left unsecured so they could be stolen?

    What if only when there is a law in place that holds them accountable? Was there in the case of Travis Reinking and was the method that Travis obtained the weapons covered under that law?

    What if the law doesn't matter....responsibility is responsibility no matter what...your an accomplice...no matter how the weapons were obtained or even if the law...which is possible even in Illinois with the bonafide gifting exclusion when its between relatives...then do we go back and arrest everybody in all the cases of minors or adults of questionable rationality and reason obtainng weapons and shooting people? If its the responsibilty of the adults who gave, sold, or left the weapons insufficiently secured to face the law when somebody uses those weapons to kill....then does that alleviate teh government of the responsibility to control access to weapons? Or are we going to do like mot things and pile law after law after law hopelessly trying to prevent what is obviously to prevent.....a determined, committed person being able to kill lots of people if they so desire? One more law going to be the one that makes them change their mind or prevent it when all the other ones didn't?

    Okay...my respectfully stated opinion (not that the above wasn't).....

    First and most important question: Why did this person do what they did? Is there something wrong with them (because of his behavior at the WH...doing this in the nude).....

    Second: If he's mental...why wasn't he committed to a mental facility?

    Third Question: Is this the result of people trying to chemically solve the problem, and was it the right diagnosis and prescription or was it misdiagnosed and the prescription the problem?

    Fourth: How did he acquire the guns, where, etc. Did he steal them from his father, was he given them by his father, was he 'gifted' them by his father? Was any of it illegal (because 'OFFICIALS' everywhere say yes, no, not sure)

    Fifth: Was his father 'ordered' or 'advised' to keep the guns away from his son?

    Bottom line....there's a long, long list of answers to questions I think nobody has yet but needs to have in order to even begin to formulate opinions....let alone come to legal conclusions!

    That's all I was trying to point out!
