  If I recall correctly, there is a method by which papers declaring the president mentally or physically incompetent can be presented (I believe to the Senate) and the Vice President placed in charge, after which the President has a short time to defend himself of the charges. In some ways, I almost want something like this done, except that I'm afraid the we might end up trading Nero for Caligula.
