  Kind of a True Detective type show, but set in New Zealand. Was on the BBC.

  I couldn't get into lillyhammer. Gave one episode.
  
  I am working through Bored to Death. My kind of quirky show (hbo though).
  
  Californication isn't too bad either. It has gotten a bit wacky in the later seasons.
