Hey, Mike--I haven't forgotten you; I'm still trying to learn to tie reasonable hopper legs, but getting there.

    This is almost on topic.

Jim, have you seen the vid over on Hans Weilenmann's site?

Jim, Hans' site is fantastic in its simplicity! Wish I'd known it was available before the tying contest at Cabelas that had the Daves' Hopper as one of the mandatory tyes!! I did learn, before hand, how to tye knots-for-knees using a knit-picker (thank goodness for Michaels Crafts!) to make the multi-fibered leg, right and left kneed still on the quill. No, I didn't place in the hopper, though did take first places in the dry fly and in the freestyle! OK ... back patting done!

4 months until hopper time up here, if ever. Still snowing. No rush.

Tristyn is my 3 mo old granddaughter who spent 15 days in PICU, on a ventilator. She was released last Friday to finish recuperation at home. She is the joy of my life.

Much respect for the humpy. Very tough fly to tie.

Auntie Em, your flies are great and Tristyn looks beautiful. I have a daughter 44 years old named Tristen, a slight deviation from the Tristan and Isolda an opera and story my wife and I loved way back when.

Edit to add; The Humpy is fine but a size 20 BWO is awesome.
