What a Beautiful Day

Finally a Spring-like day. Temp 6C but on the deck it's 10C not a cloud in the sky. Poured a Guinness, went out on the deck and listened to the birds- siskins, red polls, finches and one sorry looking robin.. Got a pot of homemade Minestrone simmering on the stove..

Have to say on days like today, life is pretty **** good at 53' 55" North..

Here's to you all..

    ****! Made it 51* here today @ 38.9939° N, 105.0564° W. Not bad considering I woke up to 2* day before yesterday. Still haven't seen a robin.

Skwalas on the Bitterroot? How has the fishing been, or hasn't it started yet?

Fishing has been "fun" when I get the chance. I haven't seen any Skwalas yet but that doesn't mean they're not hatching, I've just been too busy.

Made it to 45 degrees here today. At 4:30 I decided to bunch it at work and go fishing. It was a good choice. Stoneflies all over and fish rising to them. Great dry fly action between 5:30 and 7 tonight.

Fished today, it was great until the sun got up and the temp rose to 42 and after an hour and a half of that the water got cold and the fish shut down. Lots of stoneflies out.

First day it really felt like spring up here today also. The snowbanks are turning brown but no spring birds yet. I've been bat-proofing a few log homes in the county prior to the annual migration. Gearing up to **** Wyoming of monster troot soon.

The water was boiling for a majority of the afternoon and many trout came to hand over a 3+ hour time period...

Guns and Gays gets old. Fishing stuff seems more appropriate lodge talk.

Shawn...15 minutes from my doorstep to the spot in the pics. Half hour at most to the headwaters. I feel lucky some days.
