Waht's the derivation of that term "sporter," anyway. In relation to guns, "sport" implies hunting, not mercenarying. So why would the term "sporter" be used to signify a version of a weapon with accessories associated with military use?
On the larger point, I completely agree that companies should be allowed to sell all the assault muskets they want. Great way to separate fools from their money. Not as great as getting them to buy $700 ARs, but still pretty good.
