We've probably discussed this already -- but "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen..."

was a pretty great movie, IMO.
I'm sure it contained all sorts of factual inaccuracies about fisheries science, geography, geopolitics, etc, etc, etc.....
but at it's core, it was a sweet story, well told.
I really enjoyed it, despite having needles in both arms the whole time I was watching it.

oh heck no. Current situation at work is pretty tough, I've been burning up vacation time just to avoid getting laid off any sooner than necessary.
so the trip to Iceland was taken on leave without pay, hence a short trip was all we could afford.
I've been home for a week. today was my semi-monthly platelet donation at Red Cross, so I spent the first two hours of the day hooked up to IV's in each arm, watching movies.
just on Thursdays.
Yes. They missed showing a beautiful style of casting.
He has been going to Seattle and hanging out with bands a lot lately. He's a hair's breadth away from adopting the grunge singer lifestyle.
You do this every two weeks?
I try to, Steven, and Red Cross certainly calls that often. Sometimes things get in the way, but if my schedule permits, sure. They begin donations at 6:30 a.m. so I can usually be out of there by 9 a.m. and to the office by 9:30. doesn't really end up interrupting the day very much.
the problem is, the Red Cross people KNOW their platelet donors are habitual donors and will show up often. so they are not shy about calling. and e-mailing.
on the other hand, you get the best trained and gentlest touch staff, so the whole poking a hole in your arm thing goes pretty smoothly 99% of the time.
