just called two prominent shops I have purchased from in the past ... one with three locations (fairly well known) which has two ranges
asked about .380, 9, 40, 44 and .22
they have a readily available selection and supply
not saying you guys are lying ... just saying that back in the '90s these are stores that ran out but now have no inventory issues ... the guy said they are selling more than usual but don't have any shortages
they have postponed their spring gun show because manufacturers are strapped to bring in extra inventory but assure folks they have full inventory in their shops
same store is even promoting a .22LR schmeisser as one of their guns of the month with a special purchase discount along with advert discounts on certain handguns and rifles (some assault rifle look alikes in .22)
their primary business model isn't loaded ammo (he was friends with my uncle) ... never has been ... it's accessories, reloading, gunsmithing ... but you probably already know this ... so the limited end of their business running out of inventory should not surprise anyone
I've between trying to remember... It's been 5 years since I bought a brick of 22 ammo... What did the cheap stuff at Walmart used to go for? 20 bucks?
I used to buy it for $8.99 a brick on sale. I stockpiled a large amount of 22s. A day at the range with family and friends we would burn 1,500 rounds easy.
Just look at the flowers Lizzie just look at the flowers.
Deleted my post. I based it on a 500 round brick which works out to $8.76, however I misread the price. I did not see the zero to the left of the decimal point.

it's a helluva militia out there buying it up and hoarding it ... when the Chocolate Overlord comes for their guns it'll be quite the battle
(everything else seems to be readily available ... I mean 7.62 x 39 which is a perfectly useless round for home militia defense is out there in bunches ...
Maybe in your little world. Myself I enjoy shooting the 22s so do my children and their friends.
You have some serious issues with the Chocolate Overlord and militias.
Seek help.

BTW ... for **** n more grins I did call another gun shop I have purchased from in the past ... a smaller outfit
he acknowledged a problem getting .22 LR inventory ... he laughed and said I can sell you anything you want in any other caliber ... I asked about .22 mag (got a sweet Ruger in .22 mag) .. yup no problem got bunches of boxes of those
I asked what was up ... he said people are hoarding ... I asked why is it just an issue with .22 LR ... his answer 'who knows? other than people being stupid'
my comments about the last go round still stand ... because I load 9 mm, .44-40, .44 mag, .308, .308 win mag and plink with 7.63x39 and ALL that stuff was completely unobtainable last time ... who knows maybe that will happen again
so let's discuss ... why .22 LR? ... really? this is what people are hoarding because they are afraid the gubbmint gonna take it all away?

i'd be very surprised if he could get .40 or 9mm in anything other than defense/hollowpoint rounds......unless he had a ton stored up.....
if he can go to the phones right now and order FMJ rounds in 9mm or .40 from his supplier and get what he orders in a normal timely manner he is truly one magical gun shop right now
even the all powerful walmart has that trickling in with great irregularity

I think it's the price. Even at $25.00 a brick when found is a lot of shooting fun. A lot of folks can't afford to take out the larger calibers.

there is stuff in stock everywhere around here
and on the interwebs I found anything I was searching for to be available and in stock
haven't had to make six trips to the gun shop in hopes that they finally got their shipment like in the good ole days
you aren't looking for target grade 22LR or most handgun ammo, then
Look for 22 ammo packs.

The only way to win, is to not play the game.
fixed. Jesus. What has happened to you?
You would have to be stupid. $92.00 a brick.
$920.00 a case of 10? Is that fuzzy math.

what are my issues with them?

BTW Boofers
Gunbot tracks retail availability from all over ... so my little world must be pretty frickin big as compared to yours
i'd be very surprised if he could get .40 or 9mm in anything other than defense/hollowpoint rounds......unless he had a ton stored up.....
even the all powerful walmart has that trickling in with great irregularity
if he has it, he has had it stored
they have a range where they rent firearms so maybe they just have a huge inventory
can't confirm anything other than what I was told on the phone
gunbot seems to have access to 9mm
9mm comes in very irregular.....they blow out of inventory in minutes
and prices are nutty
pmc 115gr 9mm FMJ 50rds - 33.49 last week......that box was 14.99 in november
