Deer Herd in SE Oregon

While driving 20 between Juntura and Vale along the beautiful Malhuer river we noticed a very tiny deer crossing the road. It seemed a "little" small for this time of year. After getting back we read that SE Oregon's deer population is just about dying off. The reason is because it is said that Spring doesn't come until August and the fawns are born far too late to mature enough to survive the winter. I expect that is hard on the small human population as well.

Here is one poor shot of that valley. Our timing was great as the overcast and resulting tones were very rich.
I find the assault on free thought disturbing,
I find the willingness to give it up frightening.
