Pour a sip - Earl Scruggs has picked his last

Died yesterday at the age of 88.

Bill Monroe may be the father of bluegrass, but Scruggs refined it and it's his sound that lives on in todays modern 'grass.

SIP POURED, Indeed. Both great musicians. I remember being a long haired freak in the mid 70s and turning my friends onto to some Flatts and Scruggs one night via my 200 watt stereo. ( Hendrix loud )

And it weren't the BHB theme song.

Scruggs was a true pioneer. Lester Flatt and he had a small rift because Earl wasn't content just to play inside the tight confines of the bluegrass genre (that he largely helped create) but shared the stage with blues musicians, rock and rollers, country artists and numerous other genres.

The man simply loved music, of all types. And he garnered the respect of all types of musicians.

Like I read on another forum, "I guess the Lord was hankerin' for a jam session, too."

Not a huge fan of bluegrass but non-alcohol sip poured.

    Multiple sips poured.

When I return home I will make some biscuits with bacon drippings and Martha White flour, the one all purpose flour. It's the only flour made that's got Hot Rise.
