The Monkees hold a special place in my musical life. Yeah, they were dumb, phony and derivative, but dude, they had some great pop songs, had great music videos before the term had even been invented, and had a great blend of voices.
I hope I'm never too cool to appreciate "Pleasant Valley Sunday" or "(I'm not your) Stepping Stone"
