Holy Schnikee!
So we are in the middle of the snowmageddon event of the season (something like 4 inches of snow ... meh)
anyways last night it got underway with a hefty ice storm so I overrode the thermostat on the outside chance the power would go and shonuf ... at 3 AM ... our neighborhood has below ground powerlines and the nearest ground transformer is about 80 feet from the bedroom window. When they go the breakers flip and it sounds like a 12 gauge going off ... so at 5 the power went the breaker cut lose so I woke up and was laying there when all of sudden the whole transformer just blew! and it wasn't just one of those pops it lasted several seconds and was like the Green Latern running down the street it lit up the whole inside of the house with a green glow and that thing went off like a green volcano ... **** I wish my camera had been at habd. In 20 years I had never seen anything like it.
oh and apparently the world will end February 5, 2040
