One Thing the Oscars Got Right
Octavia Spencer. When I saw The Help the other night I said, she's going to win, no doubt about it. Strength and attitude will win it every time....well except for......
Meryl Steep? It was a caricature from what I've seen. Rooney Mara got robbed.

I find the assault on free thought disturbing,
I find the willingness to give it up frightening.

I did not watch the Oscars last night.
I agree with you on The Help. I watched that a few weeks ago.
Well, not really.
I find the willingness to give it up frightening.
Crooow:This music would work better with women in bikinis shaking all over the place. I guess that's true of any music really.
the last movie on the list we watched was Saturday night when we squeezed in, 'A Better Life' ... it got no play in the form of marketing promo etc but WOW ... Demian Bichir gives a powerful performance ... she who, who is normally a hard hearted executive was reduced to tears by the end of the movie, before seeing that I thought 'The Help' had been one of the most underrated movies of the year but that was a really well done film with good cinemaphotography, good screenplay and some powerful acting. I thought The Artist was fun and a great homage to the silent era but didn't think it warranted Best Actor (just IMHO)
fixerated for revenge.
