I find the assault on free thought disturbing,
I find the willingness to give it up frightening.

I 'like' Tab Benoit.....I've seen him scads and scads of times.....not unusual for a person who's lived in Texas and regularly haunted Louisiana to have seen him scads of times...but I've also seen him play at the Aspen Snomass Jazzfest, in a tiny-tiny little theater in Salida Colorado, and even at a tiny-tiny theater in Torrington Connecticut with Keb' Mo also on the bill!

Like I said....I 'like' Tab Benoit.....it's just that he's one of those many musicians that seems to play the standardized, cookie cutter recipe stylings of genres and thus.... IMHO...I haven't ever heard him play anything unique or exceptional (memorable, noteworthy)! It's always kinda just gone in one ear and out the other washed out kinda like elevator Muzak renditions of countless other songs that you've heard a gozillion times and then tuned out.

The one in the middle really has the moves.
"We have to find someone who can not only fly this plane, but who didn't have fish for dinner."

Crooow:This music would work better with women in bikinis shaking all over the place. I guess that's true of any music really.

She died, I am guessing from a Heroin addiction.

And Rodney.....guitar licks aren't the only thing that separates bluesmen. Since the mid sixties nearly all guitar work has been repetitive. It's the nature of the scales they use.

I got curious a looked her up. Seems she appears lethargic because she had epilepsy and that was an effect of a drug used at that time. And there is question about her early death from some sort of drug overdose.

It's not a personal criticism of your tastes in any way when I say I'm speaking of a banality regarding Tab Benoit that exceeds the singular act of following a musical genre's definitive scales/structures/mechanisms.....to the point of it almost being like the thousandth variant iteration of the original 'roses are red' poem......to me there's just not much there!

I'd have to to disagree with you, he brings a Loosiana flavor to his blues that few if any today share.

reason for this post is to say Eric Clapton sucks, he's got no soul. Tab may not be the technician that Clapton is, but he's got soul.

    Bloomfield/Buchanan forever!

    Clapton's a "technician" now?

Thank god Robert Burton isn't here to read that.
