Kind of slow here today so I thought I would talk about something. Anyway, I have been doing some Thanksgiving cooking prep work while drinking Putin's Cider on ice with a shot of cherry vodka added.
What are you drinking?
Old fashioned made with Buffalo trace.
But that’s my go to.
I discovered brandy old fashioneds in Wisconsin a few years back. Those are delicious! They taste like minced meat pie but get you buzzed.
Our well pump died and our plumber (named Trump, hmmmm ) has not yet returned our call. I'm drinking Ardbeg 10 year old, neat. We had take out sushi and sashimi for dinner. We are filling buckets with water from an old, now non-potable shallow well to make the plumbing usable.
Drinking single malt and eating sushi doesn't sound like a bad problem to have, George. Sorry about the water situation.
Just a tip. Bourbon and Mexican food is not a great combo in case you wondered.
My stepdaughter turns 26 tomorrow. Every year for her birthday, I make her her own personal "pumpkin" pie (I have used pumpkin, squash, sweet potatoes, and carrots over the years... they all make good pies). I got a blend of pumpkin, sweet potato, and acorn squash going right now. In addition, I am going to make some banana split bread and brandy pumpkin bread. The banana split bread is fantastic. Brandy pumpkin? This is new territory. I will let you know how it goes. Regardless, the breads are based on King Arthur's basic pumpkin bread recipe. If you want banana, substitute the same amount of bananas instead. Want apple/raisin? Swap the apples for the pumpkin and add a cup of raisins instead. This is an excellent base recipe for quick breads with fruit...
Speaking of heartbreaking. Jesus, man...
I bought a bottle of Wild Turkey Longbranch bourbon. May crack that open here in a minute.
im on one of my things: You know me.
WT Longbranch is pretty good. I'm not going to rush out to buy it again but I like it and would buy it again if it's ever on sale.
You start mixing that rot gut with bone broth and we're gonna have an intervention.
You know you're not in college any more, you can spend more than $12 for a handle.
Oh well, I guess and long as your not drinking it from a 1/2 frozen water bottle.
I know, right?
I wish I was more of a booze snob. I’d drink less.
I bought a bottle of Beam's single barrel rye. It isn't bad, a little too sweet for my taste, but still quite acceptable.
