Beggar's Night is Tonight

In a Des Moines area tradition, kids go out tonight rather than October 31. The tradition dates back to the late 1930s and was instituted to stop vandalism (one can only imagine what vandalism was back then...TP'ing cows?).

On Beggar's night, kids say "tricks for eats" and have to tell a joke or riddle before getting candy.

You can all go home now.
