Interesting Enhanced Interrogation Method

So, I've been watching the SS-GB miniseries on STARZ. For those not aware, it was an alternate history/spy-type novel written by Len Deighton in the late '70s in which the NAZIS won the Battle of Britain and occupied England. The Gestapo runs Scotland Yard and our hero is a British cop who didn't serve and just wants to be left alone to be a cop.

Turns out the evilest German ties salmon flies - which he likes to tie onto a leader and then force the fly down his victim's throat. And then tease it back up.

Yikes!

P.S. for BMMike. Singles-only.

He may be evil, but he doesn’t want to be sure. Id use doubles because I have to be sure.

How can he be sure using a single? He can’t.

    He can't.

    You have to be sure.

Doubles have a higher rate of non-hooking upon the take than singles. Their main advantage is acting as weights/keels to maintain the fly's vertical profile.

    Just sayin'......

BTW - how old is the novel? I wonder if it inspired The Man in the High Castle, or vice versa.

The Man in the High Castle was written in the 60's, if memory serves.

I don't think the evil Naz*i had a problem with hooking up.
