    So Strokz knew the FBI was investigating Trump in September of 2016. If he really wanted to destroy him, he could have just as easily leaked it then.

    If he is innocent, why worry? Those same agencies have not at this point shown any evidence that he was involved. So how we can conclude that they have been after him? Unless of course there is something he is afraid they will find.

    Mike, you really can't compare profiteering that the Clintons (and many other American politicians) may have engaged in with the wholesale corrupt and arguably traitorous circus we are seeing now. You're not some Russian troll in Novosibirsk, are you?

    That’s the thing, I’m not comparing Clinton to anything. Take her out of the argument all together. The money she took from Americas greatest enemy was totally legit. I get it….
    What I’m questioning is why the DOJ and FBI didn’t make it known to the committee that the Russians were, well, being Russians. Or did they? I guess we can’t know the answer, but if the committee and Obama wasn’t made aware, why not? If they were, why did they approve it? Obama could have easily killed it. He didn’t.
    Then the Russians started meddling in the election and our Intel agency turns their focus to a candidate (and ignores the other who clearly had some relations with them) and starts an investigation into that candidate that almost 2 years and millions of dollars later still hasn’t got anything on the guy.

    I’m not a big conspiracy theorist but the intelligence agencies have been F—ing up by the numbers and pointing a finger at everyone else. Take Strzok for example, Russia didn’t send those texts, they did. It’s no wonder people are losing trust in them. They tried to take down a Candidate.

    FTR from what I've seen so far yes,Trump was a complete and total a dork in the meeting with Putin. It was pretty embarrassing. Treason? Lol, No. He should have just cancelled the meeting. He was going to be crucified no matter what he said.

    That said the constant US media attacks on their leader and escalating internal strife isn't exactly sending a strong message to our enemies either.

    In 2014, as a result of Russia's behavior towards Ukraine the US, along with other countries, imposed three rounds of sanctions on various Russians and Russian state connected businesses.

    I think the USA made a reasonable and justifiable effort to reset, and it didn't work. Putin turned out to be more interested in national glory and intimidation of his neighbors than joining the world economy. Forgotten this week is that these events will in the long run probably harm Russia more than the US.
    I remember the tension and fear at the height of the Cold War and think a try at reset was well worth it. (what did the reset effort really cost us?)
    Putin's population is shrinking, and changing even more so that the US. And without fossil fuels sales his economy would tank. In the words of a policy wonk: he is a great tactician and a lousy strategist, in that he has opted out of the 21st century world economy unlike China. Real progress in alternative energy will leave his economy in the dust.

    No. Not in light of the widely known attempt by the Russian government to enlist the Chinese in a scheme to dump U.S. government debt in the midst of the Financial Crisis.

    Wisely, the Chinese realized they'd be cutting off their own nose to spite their face and turned the Russians down.

    Mike is right. While Trump sounds insane relative to Obama (at least when he believed the microphones were on), the actual policies are little different.

    To be honest, this has been going on from both sides for a long time.

    It just seems worse because: A) Trump says such stupid sh-I-t; and B) it does get worse every year.

    I will say Republicans had an intellectual light in Ryan (and Boehner understood this). I don't know who that is in the Democratic Party.
