    If we're sticking to guys who played basketball (so ignoring Bo Jackson or Jim Brown)...I'd probably say Chamberlain was the most gifted athlete. He was a helluva track and field athlete.

    Good goat cheeses, aged or soft, or BBQ kid are far more interesting than basketball. Goat mutton curry is about on par. Basketball may be a little more interesting than moldy goat sausage, I grant you that.

    The problem with "greatest of all time" is that times change, the nature of the Game changes, the rules change, athletes are bigger, faster now, etc. I chose for the NBA Bill Russell. He dominated longer, (including Wilt) and won more rings.

    I saw Kobe in person at a Jazz game. Good seats too. His athleticism was unreal. A person that had never before seen a sporting event would have been able to easily tell who the best player on the floor was.
    Never got to see MJ or LeBron (yet).

    This argument speaks better for Chamberlain. Until he got to the Lakers, he played with nobody. While credited with 6 Finals appearances, the reality is that the Eastern Finals he played with the Philadelphia Warriors and 76'ers against the absolutely loaded Celtics were the Finals.

    Averaged 50 points and 20 rebounds in one season. Once led the league in assists.

    Not sure what brought this on, but I agree completely. Only exception in my mind is NCAA football - review for targeting. I hate the way they dive in head first to spear someone with no intention of wrapping them up, but only to hurt the opposing player.
