Well, at least one of them is standing....sort of. The whole episode appears to take venality to new heights.

    Strange reporting and conclusion formulation.

The same paragraph that begins 'It is unclear why Risch was not informed or didn't know about the renaming until Thursday' then goes on to mention that typically such provisions are thoroughly vetted as bills move through then ends with saying 'But this bill’s progress was especially rapid: It was filed at 8 p.m. Thursday and passed by the House 17 hours later.' So exactly why is it unclear why Risch was not informed or didn't know?

All of which makes even less sense when the preceding paragraph said the renaming passed in a previous bill sponsored in February by Rep Mike Simpson of Idaho.....

Of course we also know that IOUs are a coveted commodity in politics...and maybe Risch's dredging up an 11th hour objection that has such a long standing history of strength and importance to Risch scored him a lot of IOUs for backing down....and not been based so much on petty venality after all?

Ya never know....and this does come from the world of politics!

Jim’s a really nice and genuine guy in person. Cliche, I know, but I still feel duty bound to point it out.
