Home The Lodge

what is the most biased media out there?

Let's set some ground rules:

2. It has to be an ostensibly objective source, like CNN or the NYT. So Mother Jones, NRO, the Weekly Standard, Media Matters, etc, doesn't count.

3. The story has to purport to reference objective facts, and the author is trying to persuade you that what you are reading is an actual recitation of facts on the ground.

Go.

Where's rule #1? What is going on here?!?

The MSM removed it. It was there. Maybe Hillary murdered it.

On the right, there's no more biased news disseminating organization than Fox News. Goombas on the right decry the MSM rigging the election for Clinton, but there's no bigger cheerleading than what Fox News does for the GOP candidates. I don't believe it's even close.

On the left, I think MSNBC leads the way.

But both of my nominations are really more about the makeup of their pundatry.

Well, there's always some bias, but I think the Washington Post tries hard to remain impartial. CNN is heavily biased towards ratings.

For both first class reporting, as well as espousing what might be called the conventional consensus liberalism, I'd have to give the nod to the NYT, mostly because they take themselves and their reporting very seriously. And its good! But for sure, the reporting reflects the worldview of the people doing the reporting.

I don't watch Fox News, so I can't comment on it, but MSNBC is bad.

For pure straight-faced propaganda, nothing beats Russia Today

    1. Fox. No doubt about it. Just horrible.

    2. Gotta say MSNBC. When I worked mid-shift I would watch Morning Joe (probably their most balanced show because of Joe S.) but the bias was still there.

PS. I love it when the sea cucumbers say that NPR and PBS Newshour are very biased.

Have you read many of PBS's political posts on Facebook?

Was the majority of media ever biased to the right? If so how long ago?

Ironically enough, it was the New York Times that first adopted the idea of objective journalism. Before that, papers slanted one way or another deliberately. Like the Hearst publishing empire.

**** jokes aside, I think we do, at times, have a more intelligent discussion about things than the vast majority of TV outlets.
