A couple from (relatively) closer to home yesterday -- took a drive out into the wheat fields east of town, chasing away lightning since it appears now that I am able to repel lightning in a 50-mile radius, now that I have a fancy new lightning trigger for my camera to test out:

thanks, I hit a lot of gravel roads on this little outing -- took some farm roads that ended up dumping me back out on the main highway 20 miles further east than I expected them to -- that was kinda fun -- in this age of GPS, to get completely lost is kind of a treat. lol.

Drive the Driftless Area of SW Wisconsin without GPS or maps if you enjoy getting lost, it'd be positively orgasmic. Bonus points if its so damned overcast you can't see the sun.

So it appears from the map that I've actually been in that region a few times, albeit mostly confined to Hwy 151 from the state line to Fitchburg, WI where my son lives. Sounds like next time I go to visit him I ought to plan some time exploring?

Take highway 14 from Richland Center to Viroqua or Westby. Turn off anywhere in between.;)
