From the US Census Bureau:

In 1967:
  • Households making less than $50,000 - 61.4%
  • $50,000 to $200,000 - 38%
  • Over $200,000 - 0.6%

In 2009:
  • Less than $50,000 - 50.1%
  • $50,000 to $200,000 - 45.9%
  • Over $200,000 - 3.8%

The average household in 1970 was 3.1 people, in 2010 it was 2.6 people.

We are getting more prosperous, the middle class and rich are growing, and the poor shrinking. Thanks, Obama.
