Ask Sherb anything.

I'll start with this:

That's really cool Sherb.

Did you get to fish that day?

I hardly ever get to go driftboat fishing (I've only hired guides a few times, and don't know anybody with a driftboat, but I have pontoon), but how does that work for you...

- do you swap out rowing with who you are fishing with?
- can you go alone?
- do you mostly drift the same stretch of river?
- how long do you drift for... all day, half day... depends?
- How much do you buy off your wife to let you do this?
- Can I come when you bring Buffco?

I did get to fish that day (off camera).
the guy rowing the boat typically doesn't fish unless there's someone else to row.
you can go alone, but there's not really a point unless you want to stop and nymph somewhere.
Length of float depends on shuttle length and what's fishing that day.

that trip is pre-second kid so it didn't cost me anything.

Ha.. your nonanswer to the last question is a loud and clear answer.

When did you join the Marines, right out of high school? What lead to that decision over going to college?

(obviously you have free will... so answer only what you feel comfortable answering. Not that anyone actually cares about my feelings, but no hard feelings if you don't answer some questions).

Was there a second drift boat or was everything shot from the rear seat?

My buddy and I had an annual fishing trip that went away completely when his daughter (third kid) was born. Prior to that he got to do a lot of stuff many husbands only dream of, like solo trips to Brazil.

Now he has two boys that are his fishing buddies. So teach those girls to fish. BTW I felt weird commenting on FB. But those are two adorable kids. I had to share that powdered sugar story with my mom.

    Lightening round:

    How much can you bench?
    can you touch the rim?
When was the last time you punched someone in the face in anger?
When was the last time you sharted?
    Ever lick a woman's foot?
    Star Wars or Star Trek?
Have you had a mid-life crisis yet? If so, what did you buy to alleviate your angst? If not, what would you buy?
If you could go to one past sporting event to witness in person, what would it be?
    What was your first concert?
What was the last concert you went to?
Who do you think is the most fascinating person on the Lodge (past or present)?
    Can you throw a curveball?
What supercar do you think you'd get if you won a billion dollars in the lottery (or technocracy was the rule of the land)?

Let's do one or two of these a week. Everyone's getting a turn in the barrel. Every. One.

    Why "Sherb?"

Offfice nickname. Interesting story, (to me, anyway). I found out that I passed the bar on September 11, 2001. The results came out at 9:00. Obviously everyone has something else on their mind. One of the other guys turns to me and says, "We haven't forgotten about you, Sherb." So there's that.
