A gar fish can be quite an humbling experience. I tried hauling some in on a bait casting rod with 3/8 ounce BB spoon attached by a steel leader to monofilament. Bit right through the leader they did, 4 times. This was in the waning years of the last century at Murray Hydroplant Lock and Dam, North Little Rock. Decided to go back to white and hybrid-striper fishing after that little episode.

I haven't tried yet. What were you using for a "fly?" I read of using a short peace of small diameter poly rope covered in a piece of panty hose. Their teeth will hang in it.

Crooow:This music would work better with women in bikinis shaking all over the place. I guess that's true of any music really.
