    Skinny repeal failed on a 49-51 vote at 1:30 am. Sen. McCain put it over the edge. High drama, apparently.

    My in-laws didn't buy insurance this year. After the government screwed them over and they had to pay them $10,000 they said screw it...Not worth it anymore.
    Why did your in laws owe the gubmint $10K? Did they buy an exchange policy and get a refundable tax credit to offset some of the premium that, once they did their tax return, turned out they were not entitled to? Not trying to ask a loaded question--just curious.

    What kind of payment plan do you get on to pay for a heart attack or spinal injury? Ridiculous proposal. I say take everything they own or let them die.

    Ummm...hospitals let you set up payment plans if you don't have insurance.

    At least around here they do.

    If they cannot afford a policy how on God's green earth would they ever pay for a several hundred thousand dollar hospital bill?
    I'm sick of paying my insurance and all medical bills on time and having freeloaders increase my costs.

    My mother's hospital stay was more than your house. How are you going to pay that? I say take everything they own or let them die. That will solve the mandate right there.
