I'm an Indiana born and raised kid, moved on to Oregon. I've been here ten years now, lost in a paradise of trout and steelhead. I'm headed home to visit the family for Christmas and looking for any advice on landing a steelhead in my native state.
Done a little research but timing seems vague in every article I read. Looking to fish after Christmas before new years. Where can I fish at that point in the year. I've read a little about St. Joes and Trail Creek.
Is this all pretty much a nymphing game? Is there good swing water and are they receptive? Any productive spey water on the St. Joe?
Any thoughts would help. Thanks.
Jim
