Bend Oregon Late August
Knock, knock. Anybody home here ???
Going to visit my son in Bend late August.
Can anybody suggest what might be good then.
Not a steelhead angler so looking more towards
Middle Deschutes and upstream from there.
Many thanks

by your post I'm not sure how familiar you are with the area.

Noticed photos on some of the fly shop websites
that the Middle to Upper Deschutes might be our skill level. Fall River
and Crooked River in tailwater area might also be a target although it
might be too warm in that neighborhood. The Horn is the only big
water we've fished at home, otherwise it's small freestones and
small streams in Yellowstone.
And you have to go visit the Metolius and fish it. It is so very unique in it's geology every fly fisher should check it out. I like walking from Canyon Creek to the Hatchery but almost any section is worthwhile. Go to The Fly Fisher's Place in Sisters for directions and suggestions.
