    Wow.

    You can't bake on Shabbat, so my guess is that the bake mode keeps the stove top hot enough for the blech.

    Ha! I too bought a new stove last month and it has Sabbath Mode. Couldn't even find one without that special feature. First world banking, now oven design & manufacturing...
